IIABA 2021 Best Practices Agency - HMS INSURANCE ASSOCIATES, INC. was selected in 2016 to be part of an elite group of independent insurance agencies around the United States participating in the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA or the Big “I”) “Best Practices” Study Group. Our status was renewed in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 for the 7th consecutive year.

On average, only 250 independent agencies throughout the U.S. qualify each year for inclusion in the  Best Practices Study. An IIABA affiliated state association or an insurance company must first nominate the agency which then must qualify based on outstanding customer retention, growth, stability and financial management.  

Founded in 1943, we celebrate more than 80 years of service to the region. HMS Insurance Associates, Inc. joined Marsh & McLennan Agency, LLC in 2023, enhancing our capabilities to serve clients both regionally and across the country. Our office of operations is located in Hunt Valley, Maryland; just north of the Baltimore area.
