Homefront Hugs USA., founded after 9-11, on 10-11-01, is dedicated to our veterans, troops and families especially brave World War II veterans and college sweetheart & former husband of founder Alessandra Kellermann, US Air Force veteran pilot Steve Schmidt of Charlevoix, Michigan. Homefront Hugs focuses on supporting both the military family and the serviceman due to the lack of support the Schmidts had during their military marriage when stationed overseas, especially with the tragic loss of their twins. Homefront Hugs provides crisis intervention, resources, referrals, and adoptions to both the deployed member and his or her family. Homefront Hugs promotes stewardship with all ages/abilities,encouraging children, adults, seniors to volunteer in thanks for their freedoms whether with veterans or their own interests. Missions for wounded warriors & their medical staff heroes are through Operation Healing Angel. Homefront Hugs provides disaster relief wherever troops are deployed helping citizens manage disasters. Donations are welcomed as no one receives any compensation at Homefront Hugs USA. All donations are strictly utilized for troop & military family needs & missions. All volunteers are registered yet can help from home wherever they reside as long as OPSEC is followed for security & confidentiality. The mission of Homefront Hugs is to ensure no hero is forgotten.
