Hope Mission is a not-for-profit Christian social care organization based in Edmonton, Alberta, with a long history dating back to 1929 when a soup kitchen was established to serve those experiencing unemployment and homelessness during the Depression. The organization operates as a civic and social services provider, offering daily meals, shelter, and a range of counseling and referral services to impoverished men, women, and children across Alberta. Its programs include addiction treatment through faith-based approaches, after-school recreation and hot meal initiatives for children, summer camps for inner-city youth, and a year-round Youth Sports Centre, along with seasonal meals and events and a 24/7 Rescue Van for emergency assistance. Hope Mission also runs the Hope Bargain Shoppe to supply clothing and essentials while supporting its programs, reflecting its mission to offer compassionate care and support to the hungry and hurting throughout the province.
