The Horticultural Therapy Institute (HTI) provides education and training in horticultural therapy (HT) to those new to, or experienced with, the practice of using gardening and plants to improve the lives of others. Through professional, interactive training, our students gain the skills and confidence to create and manage successful hort therapy and therapeutic horticulture programs. Students who take courses with HTI come from diverse backgrounds as occupational therapists, physical therapists, mental health professionals, landscape architects, and more. Past HTI students go on to practice HT with various populations, from individuals with physical and mental disabilities, veterans, elders, incarcerated individuals, and more. HTI introduces students to practicing horticultural therapists who work with special populations in different social and therapeutic horticulture settings across the U.S. and around the world. Our experienced instructors share best practices and provide the latest techniques in horticultural therapy programming that inspire students to become leaders in the HT profession. Helping you combine your passion for gardening with you desire to improve lives is at the heart of our mission and the focus of all of our training and educational programs.
