The Mission of Hospice of Humboldt: "We provide heartfelt end of life care and bereavement services to all who need them in northern Humboldt County." The Vision of Hospice of Humboldt: “We envision a community in which no one dies alone or afraid and all who grieve are comforted.” Hospice Physicians and Nursing Staff have specialized training in palliative (comfort) care, pain control, and symptom management. Our Medical Social Workers provide emotional support and practical information on issues facing families when a loved one is dying. Our Chaplains are nondenominational spiritual guides who provide solace and a listening heart to all patients, of every denomination, who wish it. Our trained Patient Care Volunteers provide companionship and support to patients and families when needed.
