Hound Labs, Inc. operates in the biotechnology research space, developing breath-based testing technologies aimed at public health and safety challenges. Its flagship HOUND CANNABIS BREATHALYZER measures active THC in breath to indicate recent cannabis use within the workday, providing an objective basis for workplace screening. As cannabis legalization expands access, the company positions its solution as a way for employers to maintain safety while balancing employee privacy and fairness in off‑duty use. In October 2023, Hound Labs launched the HOUND CANNABIS BREATHALYZER - Collect + Send, its first commercial product offering.

The company is headquartered in Fremont, California, and was founded in 2014. It serves employers seeking to deter recent cannabis use and inform workplace policies that prohibit use immediately before or during the workday, offering rapid assessment that aligns safety needs with privacy considerations. Operating within the biotechnology research sector, Hound Labs focuses on ultra-sensitive, automated analytical testing technologies to support decision making on cannabis use in professional settings.
