Housing and Services, Inc. (HSI) is a New York City nonprofit that manages and develops housing programs for lower-income households and New Yorkers with special needs. Founded in 1987, it has developed and preserved more than 3,000 housing units, including converting Mitchell Lama rental projects into affordable cooperatives, and it also provides consulting services to other nonprofits to plan supportive housing programs. HSI operates programs in Manhattan and the Bronx, such as The Kenmore, The Narragansett, The Cecil, and HSI Scatter Site, delivering on-site medical, educational, and other social services. Its work targets residents facing barriers to housing, including HIV/AIDS, mental illness, disabilities, addiction, veterans, seniors, and ex-offenders. The organization is led by Executive Director Jim Dill and is based in New York City. In March 2026, reports described a partnership with Tredway to provide social services across HSI's portfolio.
