At the Housing Authority of the City of Bloomington, we provide quality housing and self-sufficiency opportunities to low and moderate-income residents of McLean County, Illinois. The Housing Authority manages 620 units of public housing and approximately 700 housing choice vouchers (Section 8 vouchers). Our largest housing site is Wood Hill Towers, a 284-unit complex designed for older adults. Another 250 units of family housing is provided at four different developments. The 25-unit Irvin Apartments provides extra assistance to non-elderly adults with disabilities to help maintain and grow their independence. Through the Resident Opportunities and Self-Sufficiency (ROSS) and Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) programs, the Housing Authority helps residents pursue their educational, vocational, and financial goals. We are proud advocates for affordable housing, anti-poverty programs, and opportunities that advance economic mobility for low and moderate-income families and individuals.
