Huf North America operates as the United States-based arm of the Huf automotive components group, developing and manufacturing both mechanical and electronic key systems, lock sets, steering locks, and remote control systems for vehicles. The company traces its roots to Huf Hülsbeck & Fürst, founded in 1908 in Velbert, Germany, and it began supplying lock sets to Mercedes-Benz in 1920. Today the Huf group employs about 4,800 people across 16 countries, with more than 300 designers and technicians focused on research and development in offices in Velbert, Günding, Milwaukee, and Chonan. Huf has been a pioneer in components for advanced car access and immobilization, including early work on Passive Entry and Keyless Go. The Milwaukee, Wisconsin, site is integrated into the group's global network, supporting regional engineering and manufacturing activities for automotive customers. In 2026, the Huf Group announced the appointment of Carlos Marques as Chief Operating Officer, effective July 1, 2026.
