The Hydrogen Council is a CEO-led alliance within the hydrogen sector that brings together member companies from across the hydrogen value chain and more than 20 countries. Headquartered in Etterbeek, Brussels, it functions as a cross-sector platform where senior leaders can align strategy, accelerate collaboration, and shape the development of a globally integrated hydrogen market. The Council serves as a catalyst for the market and an industry voice, aiming to support cleaner, more secure, and more resilient energy systems by clarifying how hydrogen can scale, promoting supportive policy and regulatory environments, and building partnerships needed for deployment worldwide. Founded in 2017, the organization originated at the World Economic Forum in Davos as a CEO-led initiative focused on hydrogen. It positions itself as the principal convenor in the space, coordinating efforts to accelerate adoption across industry and government. In May 2026, at the International Hydrogen Trade Forum in Rotterdam, the Council unveiled Hydrogen for a Resilient World, a CEO-led call to action urging governments to accelerate deployment as a key enabler of resilient electrification.
