The Idaho Surveying and Rating Bureau, Inc. operates as an independent rating organization for property insurance and is licensed by the Idaho Department of Insurance as a rating making organization. The organization traces its roots to the Board of Fire Underwriters of the Pacific; operations were handled from the Board's offices in Salt Lake City and Portland until the bureau was formed and located in Boise in 1923, and it was incorporated in 1947.
