IEC Texas Gulf Coast is a Houston-based trade association committed to empowering independent electrical contractors and their teams through accredited apprenticeship training, workforce support, advocacy, and professional networking. IEC Texas Gulf Coast represents 200+ electrical contractor companies and over 2.000 journeyman electricians, associates and engineers. Our Mission and Vision is to serve as “the quality symbol for the electrical industry” throughout the Gulf Coast region. IEC Texas Gulf Coast promotes the success of independent (“open-shop”) electrical contractors by delivering best‐in‐class workforce development, industry advocacy, and business support . Key Services & Programs we provide include: - Apprenticeship Training Registered with the Department of Labor since 1972, offering a 4‑year apprenticeship, plus over 200 continuing-education and exam-prep classes annually. -Contractor Support Services Staff‑recruiting assistance—ads & resume services -Shared Man Program—for pooling labor among member firms during downtimes. -Advocacy & Government Affairs IEC representatives engage with city, state, and national regulatory bodies (e.g., NEC Code Panels), and lobby on critical industry issues . -Networking & Business Development Monthly membership gatherings, industry events, and national Conventions such as SPARK, Business Summit, Safety Summit, plus discounted industry publications and reference materials .
