IMFA is a fully integrated ferrochrome producer based in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, established in 1961. Its business encompasses captive chrome ore mining at Sukinda and Mahagiri, with manufacturing facilities at Therubali and Choudwar and an installed 190 MVA smelting capacity capable of about 284,000 tonnes per year. The group also operates its own power generation, including 200 MW of coal-based generation and a 4.55 MWp solar installation, with ISO 9001 quality management certification. To expand output, IMFA is pursuing a total capacity of 534,000 tpa through a greenfield 66 MVA project and a 99 MVA strategic acquisition, leveraging its captive ore mines and an additional 110 MW of hybrid renewable power to support the expansion. In diversification, the company is developing a 120 KLD grain-based ethanol facility at Therubali. Recent recognitions include export excellence awards from EEPC India for 2019-20 and 2020-21, and multiple safety awards in 2023 and 2024 at national and state levels.
