In Defense of Christians is a small, non-profit, non-partisan organization based in Washington, DC, focused on raising awareness of ancient and persecuted minority communities in the Middle East, particularly Christians. The group conducts policy advocacy on behalf of vulnerable Christian communities and other religious minorities. It was formed in response to Archbishop Francis Chullikatt’s exhortation at the 2012 National Catholic Prayer Breakfast, a call echoed by Pope Benedict. Operating within the international affairs space, IDC seeks to influence U.S. and foreign governments to safeguard minority religious communities in the Middle East. A notable recent development is IDC’s 10th Anniversary Celebration held on September 18, 2024.
