Independent is foremost an art fair designed by and for gallerists. With a founding mission to constantly innovate and expand how visual art can be presented in a temporary public space on a global scale, we are committed to
updating and challenging the art fair format with key stakeholders and talent across all cultures, forms and disciplines.

Through our tight curatorial focus that prioritizes conversation, collaboration, and shared conceptual arrangements, Independent incentivizes the creation of ambitious projects by encouraging artists and galleries to take risks. Independent is now viewed as the launching point for galleries to introduce challenging and visionary projects to the market.

Independent now has two annual editions in New York and Brussels. Independent is positioned to expand dynamically to include new cities and an integrated daily presence in the cultural landscape.
