Indigenous Glass Art Network (IGAN) is a non-profit organization focused on connecting and supporting indigenous artists in the glass arts, operating as a global, primarily virtual network. Based in the Seattle area, IGAN aims to provide a hub that links artists with supporters and helps build an international community around indigenous glass work, with a foundational emphasis on creating a website to serve as its backbone. The organization targets artists working in glass and those who wish to support Indigenous glass art, addressing the need for a centralized platform to express creative vision and facilitate collaboration. IGAN positions itself within the civic and social sphere, fostering cultural exchange and professional connection rather than operating as a traditional commercial enterprise. The current brief describes IGAN as a new initiative that begins with online infrastructure to support its mission of global engagement and artist development.
