Its work targets diverse learners and includes teacher professional development, with a focus on engaging participants in real-world monitoring of the Great Lakes’ health to inspire interest in science, technology, engineering, and related careers. Founded in 1989 and operating in the environmental services space, Inland Seas seeks to protect the Great Lakes by educating the public and developing the next generation of stewards, with activities that have reached hundreds of thousands of learners across the basin. Recent developments noted include recognition as a Certified Autism Center and a notable fundraising milestone supporting its ongoing programs.
