Chegg (NYSE: CHGG) acquired Inside Jobs in 2013 and operates a version of the software and content at chegg.com/career . Inside Jobs was a Seattle-based software company that helped young adults figure out their futures. With Inside Jobs’ interactive website and in-person workshops, young adults explored thousands of personalized career ideas and connected with the right education to realize their potential. Our product, engineering, and design team built a self-generating job sorting and filtering system that used statistical analysis and natural language processing to score and sort jobs based on user filters. We also developed and ran a system that connected the more than 15,000 careers to over 7,000 colleges and universities, to help users find for any given career what schools could best prepare them. We also crawled the web for resumes and, more importantly, recent job listings to correctly identify useful career paths into certain roles and likely advancement after those roles.
