InstaEDU is an online tutoring platform that connects students with tutors from top universities, delivering the convenience of remote sessions alongside the quality associated with in-person tutoring. The service supports a range of needs, from last-minute help to regular lessons throughout a semester, and enables quick assistance during assignments. Its tutor pool covers more than 2,500 subjects, spanning foundational topics to advanced college material, and the platform emphasizes the individualized screening of tutors to ensure a certain standard of instruction.
Based in San Francisco, InstaEDU operates within the e-learning space as a marketplace for on-demand tutoring. The company serves students seeking flexible, just-in-time academic support, and it positioned itself as a leading on-demand tutoring provider before becoming part of Chegg, Inc. in 2013. A notable development in its recent history includes its acquisition by Chegg in May 2014, which reflects consolidation in the online education sector while continuing to offer connected tutoring experiences.
