The mission of the Institute of Design and Construction (IDC), a professional college in downtown Brooklyn, is to provide students with proper training for careers in the architecture and construction industries.  This open-admissions college provides a comprehensive course of study toward Associate Degrees in Architectural Technology and Building Construction Technology.  IDC also offers continuing education courses for architecture/engineering/construction professionals and architectural license exam preparation classes.

Founded in 1947 by Vito P. Battista, R.A., IDC is a private, nonprofit institution registered by the New York State Department of Education and accredited by the New York State Board of Regents.
