The Institute on Science for Global Policy (ISGP) is a nonprofit organization that develops an international forum through invitation-only conferences focused on science and technology options for addressing major geopolitical and security issues. These conferences assemble distinguished scientists and technologists who present policy-relevant analyses and participate in extensive debates, drawing on an international cross-section of policymakers, business leaders, and society representatives. Topics span aspects such as surveillance, prevention, or mitigation within broad areas like food safety, security and defense, and emerging or persistent infectious diseases. Participants are selected after consultations with participating governments and organizations, with the aim of giving leaders in government, industry, and civil society a clear view of challenges, solutions, and risks relevant to policy decisions. The organization is based in Tucson, Arizona, and, in February 2019, appointed Michael Buch as Chief Science Officer.
