The Insurance Institute of Canada, founded in 1899, is a not-for-profit body focused on professional education for Canada’s property and casualty insurance sector. Based in Toronto, Ontario, it serves more than 40,000 members through 19 provincial Institutes and chapters. It offers education programs that lead to professional designations such as the Chartered Insurance Professional and Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional, and it supports career development through the CIP Society and a network of more than 18,000 graduates. The Institute also conducts and disseminates research on industry human capital issues, with insights published on its website, and tracks industry news via newsletters and regional updates. In 2025, the Institute recognized a recipient of its National Leadership Award in the Emerging Leaders category.
