The Inter-American Dialogue is a hemispheric think tank based in Washington, D.C., that builds networks of cooperation to advance democratic resilience, shared prosperity, social inclusion, and sustainable development across the Americas. Its work centers on shaping policy debates by generating new ideas and practical proposals and moving them to government and private decision-makers. The organization also seeks to give diverse Latin American and Caribbean voices greater access to U.S. policy discussions and to broaden participation in its leadership networks and task forces. Founded in 1982, the Dialogue has a long-standing role in inter-American affairs and conducts activities throughout the hemisphere. A majority of its board and participants come from Latin American and Caribbean nations.
