The International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM) is a non-profit organization focused on transforming healthcare by standardizing how patient outcomes are measured and reported. It coordinates international teams of physicians, outcomes researchers, and patient advocates to define Patient-Centered Outcomes Measures for specific medical conditions and promote their adoption by health care providers worldwide. Since its inception, ICHOM has released standardized outcome sets for multiple conditions, beginning with cataracts, coronary artery disease, localized prostate cancer, and low back pain in 2013, and has since completed more than forty measures, enabling objective, comparable assessment of recovery and quality of life. Based in Boston, Massachusetts, ICHOM operates with a global reach, serving healthcare providers and health systems that aim to measure and compare patient outcomes to improve value. In February 2026, the organization announced the appointment of Dr. Jens Deerberg-Wittram to its Board of Directors.
