The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) is the largest non-profit, non-partisan membership organization serving economic development professionals. It supports communities by promoting job creation, retention and expansion, and by strengthening wealth and the tax base to improve quality of life. The organization includes professionals from government, public-private partnerships, chambers of commerce, universities and other institutions involved in economic development. Based in Washington, D.C., the council aims to foster high-quality jobs and vibrant communities through its activities. In 2026, it released the Economic Development Week toolkit to support outreach and professional practice across the field.
