The International Mountain Climbing School (IMCS) provides guided access to rock and ice climbing, backcountry skiing, mountaineering, and avalanche education in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Its guides focus on safety and technique, offering instruction that ranges from beginner to experienced climbers and facilitating climbs at classic local routes such as Cathedral Ledge, Whitehorse Ledge, Crawford Notch, Cannon, and Mt. Washington. The organization also rents climbing gear, camping equipment, and outerwear, coordinating with International Mountain Equipment to outfit clients for their outdoor activities. In addition to guiding and equipment rental, IMCS runs the Mount Washington Valley Ice Fest, noted as the region’s largest ice climbing event, which reflects its involvement in the climbing community beyond individual instruction.
