International Professors Project is a non-profit global network that connects volunteer professors, professionals, graduate students, and undergraduates who are interested in development with an emphasis on education. It supports universities in poor and developing countries through in-house pro bono assistance drawn from a worldwide volunteer base and a broad network of partner nonprofits and colleagues. The organization promotes cross-border teaching experiences and a model of the professor who teaches in more than one country, and it is based in Boca Raton, Florida. Its work centers on higher education institutions in developing regions seeking expertise, collaboration, and capacity-building support, delivered through volunteers, networks, social media, and collaborations with for-profit organizations. Its goals include fostering transnational academia and exploring concepts such as the internationalized university and global and free university models as part of development projects.
