The International Trade Administration (ITA) is a U.S. federal agency in the International Trade and Development sector, located at 1401 Constitution Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20230. It employs between 501 and 1,000 people. ITA's mandate is to strengthen U.S. industry competitiveness, promote trade and investment, and enforce U.S. trade laws and agreements to ensure fair trade, with the goal of improving the global business environment for U.S. firms at home and abroad. ITA is organized into three units: Global Markets (which includes the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service and related trade promotion services and market access advocacy), Industry and Analysis (which develops policies and promotion strategies to boost competitiveness), and Enforcement and Compliance (which enforces trade law and coordinates with the President's Interagency Trade Enforcement Center). The agency operates in the international trade and development space, supporting U.S. organizations' ability to compete domestically and internationally.
