The International Water Association (IWA) is a London-based global organization in the environmental services sector focused on water management. It brings together an interdisciplinary network of water professionals and partners to share practical knowledge across the entire water cycle, with the aim of reducing, reusing, and replenishing water resources. Its network comprises around ten thousand members and more than five hundred companies worldwide, enabling collaborative work on innovative, pragmatic, and sustainable solutions to water challenges. The organization traces its roots to more than 75 years of heritage and was established in 1999 through the merger of the International Water Services Association and the International Association of Water Quality. It positions itself as a global reference for water professionals working across the entire water cycle, linking research, practice, regulation, engineering, consulting and manufacturing to address water management challenges. A 2028 edition of the International Water Loss Management Conference will be hosted in Oman, reflecting ongoing activity in reducing water loss and improving distribution efficiency.
