Reshaping mental health care through the delivery of a new model Unifying Specialties of Mental Health Practice. Starting with a psychiatric evaluation of the individual patient, we incorporate brain health research, incorporating cutting edge treatment approaches and advances in medicine. Such practices include: genetic testing, brain stimulation, evidenced-based therapy, tailored addiction services, medication, behavioral interventions, cognitive testing and more. We feel that nothing is more important than our mental health. And nothing is more complex. At Island Psychiatry, we believe that treating complex mental health issues requires us, as doctors and therapists, to have a relentlessly energetic commitment and often a team approach without constraints. Our private, confidential, stand-alone, relaxing setting allows patients to immediately experience some relief. Our team is working to acknowledge and address the barriers to obtaining quality, caring, equitable, and comprehensive mental health care. Four common barriers that we are tackling head on are Insurance, Cost, Stigma and Fear. We also provide preventive care and treatment options to companies, schools, and organizations, avoiding the barrier of insurance, decreasing cost and leading to a retained and happier workforce. We believe in bringing our skills, ideas and practices together in order to create an integrated network of professionals who can collaborate and advance the field of mental health. This is accomplished as a Unified group of Specialties here at Island Psychiatry but also in collaboration with community professionals. We go beyond that through the provision of workshops, trainings, and presentations at all levels to share ideas, resources and practices.
