IT University of Copenhagen (ITU) is a Danish higher education institution established in 1999 that focuses on IT research and education. It offers advanced teaching and research across computer science, business IT, and digital design, with the aim of producing knowledge that enables significant information technology and services for society. The university works closely with industry, the public sector, and international researchers, and its central Copenhagen campus was designed by the Danish architect Henning Larsen. The university serves about 2,400 students and employs around 310 staff members in full-time equivalents. It operates within the higher education and IT research space and maintains active collaborations with industry partners and research communities. In February 2023, ITU researchers released MarioGPT, a fine-tuned language model developed to generate game levels.
