Founded in 1995, the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation is a San Diego–based nonprofit focused on building communities and lifting lives through neighborhood revitalization. As a catalyst and incubator, it collaborates with residents and partner organizations to transform nearly 60 acres in Southeastern San Diego’s Diamond Neighborhoods into sustainable developments that expand access to resources and amenities, improving residents’ daily lives. The center also seeks to strengthen economic opportunities, leadership skills, and educational success for community members. Its work targets residents of the Diamond Neighborhoods and local partner organizations seeking place-based renewal. In 2024, the organization sold the Joe & Vi Jacobs Center building to San Ysidro Health to support an after-hours urgent care and senior services center. The Jacobs Center is based in San Diego, California, and operates with a small-to-mid sized team dedicated to neighborhood innovation.
