The Jaeb Center for Health Research, founded in 1993, is a nonprofit coordinating center for multicenter clinical trials and epidemiologic research. Based in Tampa, Florida, it concentrates on projects related to eye disorders and type 1 diabetes, employing advanced scientific methods to study disease and advance care. As a freestanding organization within the research services field, it supports collaboration among researchers and institutions to design, conduct, and analyze multicenter studies. The center works with a range of research partners and sponsors to run studies in its focus areas; it has engaged in partnerships such as a 2023 collaboration with Alimera Sciences to support the DRCR Retina Network's Protocol AL and corresponding product, ILUVIEN. This collaboration illustrates its role in enabling specialized research within ophthalmology and diabetes care through external partnerships.
