Jamali N.Y.C Gallery, based in New York City, operates as a mid-sized venue that presents a permanent exhibition of Jamali, a world-renowned contemporary artist. Jamali's practice blends fresco and tempera with expressive elements, creating richly textured surfaces. American critic Donald Kuspit has described Jamali as the originator of Mystical Expressionism, a fusion of emotional immediacy, light and form, and abstract concepts. The artist's process includes a meditative morning dance and the incorporation of nearby natural elements, contributing to the physical texture of the canvases. The paintings combine human features with visionary and archetypal forms, occupying a space where image and abstraction intersect within the gallery's permanent collection.
