Founded in 1976, JBWS celebrates 45 years of offering hope and safety to victims of domestic violence and their families. Our mission is the prevention of domestic violence through the protection and empowerment of the victim, the rehabilitation of family members, the advocacy of social reform to prevent partner violence, and the education of the public about domestic violence and its consequences. Services include a 24-hour helpline (973-267-4763), safe house, transitional living, counseling, children's services, batterers' intervention, vocational counseling and more. Additionally, JBWS is the lead partner agency for the Morris Family Justice Center, a coordinated, one-stop resource provided by multiple service agencies and led by JBWS. Our vision is to create a community-wide culture that refuses to tolerate the presence of any form of family or partner violence.
