Jewish Family Service (JFS) is a non-profit home health and social service agency providing a broad continuum of services including skilled home health care, private duty in-home care, palliative care, counseling, care management, guardianship/conservatorship, meals on wheels, transportation for older adults, food and financial assistance, adoption services and services to the developmentally disabled and chronically mentally ill.  We serve over 3,000 individuals annually throughout Hampton Roads, and beyond, and have a strong volunteer program.
Our mission is to provide a full spectrum of services that promote quality of life within the philosophy and tradition of Judaism.
JFS's skilled home health agency is Medicare-certified and accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP).  Our patient outcomes and satisfaction results consistently exceed state and national benchmarks.
In 2012, JFS, along with Beth Sholom Village, established the Freda H. Gordon Hospice and Palliative Care of Tidewater, an organization accredited by the Joint Commission and Medicare-certified providing hospice care throughout our community.
JFS is a United Way agency and a constituent agency of the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater.  Our slogan is "You never know when you'll need help but you'll always know where to find it."
