The Jim Joseph Foundation is a San Francisco–based nonprofit dedicated to advancing Jewish learning experiences for young Jews in the United States. Established in 2006, it awards strategic grants to Jewish nonprofit organizations and initiatives with proven models for learning and talent development, prioritizing long-term impact and sustainability. It also pursues unconventional talent and ideas to expand opportunities for Jewish life and education. Its primary recipients are Jewish nonprofits and initiatives that offer effective learning programs. The foundation collaborates with partners to scale proven approaches and to support talent development, rather than funding isolated projects. In 2025, it partnered with the Harold Grinspoon Foundation to commission a study examining how non-Orthodox Jewish families today create Jewish experiences for their young children.
