The John Brooks Recovery Center is a private nonprofit organization providing substance abuse treatment to New Jersey residents, with a focus on Atlantic County, since 1969. Its network includes residential programs for men and women in Atlantic City, an outpatient center offering Medication Assisted Therapy and intensive outpatient programs, and a main center on Black Horse Pike in Pleasantville that houses intake and MAT services for up to 650 adults along with multiple IOP tracks. Care is organized around individualized assessments, with psychiatric evaluations, medication monitoring, and screening for HIV and Hepatitis C, plus post-test counseling across levels of care. Admission priorities include HIV-positive individuals, pregnant women, IV drug users, veterans, and referrals from Syringe Access Programs. In January 2022, AtlantiCare completed its acquisition of JBRC.
