Diverse Impact CUNY John Jay College is a large, mission-driven higher education institution with a focus on justice, public safety, criminal justice, STEM and law, presenting opportunities to cross-sell software, analytics, and security solutions to multiple departments including research, IT, admissions and student services.

Technology Adoption Existing tech stack includes Microsoft Power Automate, SAS, Drupal, Shopify, Google Workspace, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Active Directory, and Microsoft Sentinel, signaling openness to cloud-based workflow automation, data analytics, cybersecurity, identity management, and collaboration tools for IT modernization or security hardening initiatives.

Security & Compliance With CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender/Sentinel usage and a large student-faculty population, there is a strong need for advanced endpoint protection, SIEM, threat intelligence, and zero trust initiatives to protect academic research data and student records.

Growth & Partnerships Recent collaborations and initiatives, including career maps with major employers and digital archive expansions, indicate a strategic emphasis on industry partnerships, alumni engagement, and monetizable research/commercial programs that can be accelerated with sponsored programs, analytics partnerships, and digital platforms.

Funding & Expansion Significant state funding for CUNY and the system-wide growth in programs suggest a favorable purchasing cycle for enterprise solutions, student services enhancements, and capabilities that scale across campuses, presenting cross-sell opportunities for IT, security, and student success platforms.
