John Monash Science School (JMSS) is Victoria’s first specialist school focused on science and mathematics, and one of only a few such institutions in Australia. It operates through a formal partnership between the Victorian Department of Education and Training and Monash University, with the aim of supporting students who pursue endeavours in science, mathematics and related technologies. Opened in 2010, the school has grown to provide education in science, mathematics and technologies that emphasizes innovative, high-quality instruction. 

JMSS positions itself as a center for excellence in teaching and learning that draws on research-based approaches and resource development within STEM.
