Joshua’s Heart Foundation (JHF) is a Miami-based nonprofit organization focused on empowering youth to address hunger and poverty at the community level. Since its founding in 2005 by Joshua Williams, the foundation has mobilized young leaders through programs that train, upskill, and engage teens in hands-on activities such as food distributions and pantry consulting, with graduates advancing to mentoring roles within the organization. JHF works with more than a hundred partners across sectors to secure resources and support for its mission, and has reported distributing millions of pounds of food to hundreds of thousands of individuals. The organization emphasizes youth development through the Junior Advisory Board and National Advisory Board, aiming to cultivate capable, collaborative, empathetic, and critically thinking leaders for long-term community impact. In 2022, JHF introduced an updated approach (JHF 2.0) that prioritizes sustainable, values-based community engagement over traditional top-down activities. A recent notable development includes recognition with the Smiles in Action Award from the PepsiCo Foundation.
