K Space Contemporary is a small 501(c)3 nonprofit based in downtown Corpus Christi, Texas, dedicated to presenting and promoting contemporary art. As the oldest alternative art space in the Coastal Bend region, it serves as a forum for creative exchange and experimentation and aims to educate the public about innovative art in South Texas.
The organization emphasizes exhibitions of emerging and mid-career artists and provides a venue for under-represented, experimental, or site-specific works that may be difficult to exhibit elsewhere. Its program slate includes exhibitions and openings, street festivals, educational workshops, film screenings and lectures, and the Wig Out fundraiser. In 2016 it launched a Mural Arts Program for Teens.
