The Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, located in Kalamazoo, Michigan, functions as both a museum and a community-oriented art school. Established in 1924, its aim is to nurture both the creation and the appreciation of visual arts. Each year it hosts between ten and fifteen rotating exhibitions, with a collection that includes American painting, European and American prints and photographs, and pre-Columbian gold artifacts. 

The Kirk Newman Art School offers classes in two- and three-dimensional media to roughly three thousand students of all ages, complemented by visiting artist workshops and international travel programs. In addition to exhibitions and classes, the organization coordinates programs and events for engagement, operates a gallery shop, and provides facility rental, alongside volunteer and membership activities through related groups such as the Kalamazoo Art League. In March 2024, the institute named Michelle Hargrave as Executive Director, signaling a leadership transition.
