Kansas Municipal Utilities (KMU) is the statewide association of municipally-owned and -operated electric, gas, water, wastewater, stormwater, and telecommunications utilities across the State of Kansas. As a non-profit association established by its member utilities in 1928, KMU is dedicated to serving the needs and interests of these publicly owned utilities.

Membership in KMU is open to any Kansas municipality that owns and operates its own utility system and is interested in working together with other municipal systems for the advancement and protection of their utilities and the citizens, businesses and industries that they serve. Other membership opportunities are also available for companies and organizations that support municipal utilities through their products and services. By working together, municipally-owned utilities can leverage their resources through KMU for the benefit of their communities and the owner-consumers that they serve.
