Karmanos Cancer Institute is a cancer care, research, and education organization aligned with McLaren Health Care. It is the largest provider of cancer care and research in Michigan, supported by a network of sites that deliver care and provide access to clinical trials across Michigan and northern Ohio. Based in Detroit, the institute has housed its administrative and research headquarters and flagship cancer hospital there for more than seven decades, and it holds a comprehensive cancer center designation from the National Cancer Institute. Through its academic partnership with Wayne State University School of Medicine, the organization supports cancer research and education and helps shape standards of care. It operates multiple network sites beyond its Detroit base to extend its reach regionally. In 2026, it announced the Inaugural Marrow Masterclass Symposium, to be held May 16 in Dearborn, bringing together national experts to address leukemias and complex bone marrow disorders.
