Kaufman Music Center is a New York-based performing arts organization founded in 1952, originally established as a community music school. It now runs programs designed to broaden access to music education for diverse audiences, reaching about 4,000 students each year through Special Music School, Lucy Moses School, and teen initiatives such as Face the Music and Luna Composition Lab. At Merkin Hall, its performances span classical to contemporary works, drawing more than 50,000 audience members annually. In 2026, the center announced a partnership with New York City Public Schools at P.S. 149 in Harlem and appointed five new members to its Board of Trustees.
