Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC) is a self-supporting public corporation of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, administratively attached to the Finance and Administration Cabinet. It was created by the 1972 General Assembly, and a portion of its funds come from interest earned on tax-exempt mortgage revenue bonds. KHC has facilitated homeownership for more than 82,000 Kentucky families and administers federal programs including rental assistance that serves more than 27,000 low-income Kentuckians. Its programs include rental housing production financing, homeownership education and counseling, and a range of rental assistance, housing rehabilitation, and home repair initiatives, delivered through partnerships with lenders, government agencies, nonprofit housing providers, builders, real estate agents, community organizations, and developers.
