King Conservation District is a non-regulatory natural resources assistance agency authorized by Washington State, based in Renton in King County. Its mission is to promote the sustainable use of natural resources through responsible stewardship. The district supports landowners, schools, researchers, consultants, and agencies by helping them recognize problem situations and by providing technical assistance to resolve them. Serving residents and organizations across King County, the district works to identify and prevent resource-management challenges and to support informed decision-making about land and water use. It operates within the environmental services sector with an emphasis on education, collaboration, and practical stewardship, reflecting a long-standing commitment since 1949. In 2023 the district launched an online Native Plant Sale, marking a concrete expansion of its outreach to support habitat restoration.
