King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital (KKESH) is a tertiary care ophthalmic facility operated by the Ministry of Health in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, located in Riyadh. The hospital provides tertiary ophthalmic care and works to promote Kingdom-wide ophthalmic services through its outreach, educational, and research programs. For more than two decades KKESH has been recognized for excellence in ophthalmic patient care, as well as its educational programs, which include continuing medical education seminars and symposia and the training of ophthalmology residents, subspecialty fellows, and other allied healthcare personnel, along with its research programs. The facility employs between 1,001 and 5,000 people. In October 2023, KKESH participated in unveiling Eyenai, Saudi Arabia's first locally-developed AI-driven ophthalmic solution, through a consortium that included the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence, Lean Business Services, and the Saudi Company for Artificial Intelligence.
