Kinsella Arts, Inc. (KAI) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that serves to support and sustain the Comprehensive Training, Cultural Exposure and Arts Integration at R.J. Kinsella Magnet School of the Performing Arts(KMSPA). KAI expands upon the strong performing arts presence in the school and ensures that the quality of arts academics will always be in place and remain of the highest quality (even if the public school arts funding is reduced).

KAI is controlled by an independently-elected Board of Directors, consisting of parents, local business leaders and school administrators, all of whom serve on the board as volunteers. The Board of Directors of KAI has dedicated itself to securing that the advancements made at the school continue to support arts integrated learning.

KAI raises money through corporate and community foundations and grants, donations, sponsorships, individual gifts and annual fundraising events.

Kinsella Magnet School of Performing Arts is a turn-around school.  Since becoming a performing arts magnet school in 2007, Kinsella has increased its overall school index (OSI) from 39% to 83% on the Connecticut Mastery Test.

The arts have transformed the school community to enthuse engaged parents and emotionally connected students. The school includes students from over forty- eight zip codes and all ethnic backgrounds forming a diverse and rich culture.
